Today is World Refugee Day. Needless to say that it is a very important day: the number of people fleeing war, violence and persecution has never been so high. The short A Man Falls from the Sky touches the fear that exists around refugees and makes you think about your own behavior. For example, what would you do if a man falls from the sky?
This short film is not suited for children, adults will probably have a laugh or two. The Short Shot this week is How To Have A Romantic Date and it is really short, so don’t tell me you’re too busy to watch it.
Douwe Dijkstra was part of our European Competition Jury last edition of Go Short. And next to being an excellent jury member, he is a filmmaker and visual artist as well. His film Green Screen Gringo, selected for the Dutch Competition program in 2017 is a testiment to his artistry and his fascination for green screens in general. Read more…
