Fishing for the truth behind an unusual tale.
In this 14 minutes documentary, director Charlie Lyne attempts to unravel his friend’s (Caspar Salmon) fishy tale. Caspar claims that his grandmother was invited to an unusual gathering on the Welsch island of Anglesey. This gathering was a PR event, attended exclusively by people with fish surnames. As bizarre as it sounds, Lyne plays the role of the detective, trying to discover whether this story is fact or fiction.
Fish Story was screened at last year’s Go Short, and won this year’s audience award for best short at AFI Docs Film Festival. It was also screened at Sundance Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Sheffield Doc/Fest, True/False Film Fest and Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
